A) make individual party pizzas where each child can choose their own toppings
B) cut out puff pastry circles and add filling of your choice (cheese, meat etc) then bake
C) make fresh chicken / fish goujons from scratch
D) wrap pastry around sausages and bake (pigs in blankets)
The two hour cooking birthday party starts with the birthday chef and his/her friends gathering in the dining room where they each decorate a bag to take home a set of recipes, slice of birthday cake and cookie. Refreshments are served on the table (cordial + water) and this is where the children and parent/s will sit and enjoy the lovely food they make at the party.
We then move to the kitchen with the Cookery Instructor/s and start by making lots of chocolate sponge birthday cakes. There’s a choice of cake tins/shapes and we mix and bake one to take home and the rest are cooled and decorated to slice and share.
After a brief break (mainly to allow for bowl licking after the cake-making!) we prepare the main course.
There are a few choices:
- make individual party pizzas where each child can choose their own toppings
- cut out puff pastry circles and add filling of your choice (cheese, meat etc) then bake
- make fresh chicken / fish goujons from scratch
- wrap pastry around sausages and bake (pigs in blankets)
While the main course is cooking and cooling, we make vanilla butter biscuits for dessert which everyone eats with melted chocolate and a scattering of 100s and 1000s. Everyone sits in the dining room to eat their birthday feast and their freshly baked chocolaty biscuits for dessert.
Then it’s off to decorate the cakes, where the birthday girl or boy enlists the help of friends to cover the cakes in chocolate or icing and add the decorations to their own design. We conclude by singing ‘Happy Birthday’ and sharing out the cake slices.
The price is €225 for 12 children and €10/child for additional guests.
You are welcome to stay, enjoy a coffee, join in cooking or share their meal. Or in the case of older children (10 and upwards) you can drop off and come back 15 minutes before the end to do the candles and ‘Happy Birthday’. In the case of younger children or larger parties, we request that you stay to help with supervision. The maximum number is 20 children.
